The battle between Hermès and Louis Vuitton is the David and Goliath story of the fashion world.

Hermès is one of the last independent, family-run luxury brands. Five years ago, Louis Vuitton, a global conglomerate, revealed that it had secretly acquired a significant stake in the smaller company. How did Hermès fend off the takeover attempt? And why is it the fastest-growing fashion house in the world?

CEO Axel Dumas talks to the BBC about the epic showdown, and why Hermès stock has soared since the 2008 recession.
